Mrs Dalloway is a novel by Virginia Woolf that details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway in post-World War I England. Mrs Dalloway continues to be one of Woolf's best-known novels. Created from two short stories, "Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street" and the unfinished "The Prime Minister", the novel's story is of Clarissa's preparations for a party of which she is to be hostess. With the interior perspective of the novel, the story travels forwards and back in time, and in and out of the characters' minds, to construct a complete image of Clarissa's life and of the inter-war social structure.
Mrs Dalloway English Edition Virginia Woolf Books
Mrs. Dalloway IMO exemplifies Virginia Woolf's finest writing. There is no graphic violence; I do not count the suicide of main male character. There is no sexual content; I do not count the repressed sexuality that permeates the entire work. The work's POV is Third Person Omniscient: the narrator knows everything going on in everybody's mind/brain.Product details

Mrs Dalloway English Edition Virginia Woolf Books Reviews
I found this book to be rather disjointed. I could not get into the characters and was glad when I finished the book.
Excellent character studies
Good book to read
I find her prose difficult to read since she wrings every emotion from them all.
Complex and introspective view of opportunities and love both realized and lost, layered with regret and nostagia. Only read one prior Woolf novel - Lighthouse - typical themes, to me. I liked it a lot, but a rather slow read for me given the style.
Guess I was always a little afraid of Virginia, but this book's language and psychological insight-- not to mention its cosmic scope and awareness of the toils that war takes totally won me. Very poetic and psychedelic in places.
I know she a great writer however no my taste.
